Commitment, Consistency, Courage
Ultra running may appear out of reach for many, but I strongly believe it is within reach for anyone who can run, even if today you run very little. It is a community that uplifts and helps all participants realize the depth of their strength and courage.
As such I strongly believe that ultra running can be accessible for all. It will require commitment, consistency and courage, and I’ll be here to help and guide you to your goals.
To gain the most out of your coaching experience, you should be willing to be transparent and honest about there capacity and capabilities throughout the training cycle. This will allow me to provide helpful modifications and customization to a training plan that is personalized to your needs.
These inputs allow us collectively to understand current fitness levels and determine realistic goals for the athlete. These meetings also allow me as the coach to understand your non-running life commitments e.g. family and work and ensure that the training plan considers those important priorities appropriately. From here a periodized plan will be developed, designed to help the athlete meet their predefined goals. Then a more detailed workout plan will be developed on a bi-weekly or monthly basis within TrainingPeaks™. TrainingPeaks™ will also be used to collect the athletes feedback, as well as training metrics (in many cases directly from your connected device e.g. Garmin watch) which allows me as the coach to adjust your plan, based on how your physiological adaptation to the training is going.
The process will begin with the athlete completing a health questionnaire and a medical questionnaire, along with meeting with me for the athlete intake session.
All training is designed and planned based on the most recent relevant science as supported by UESCA – United Endurance Sports Coaching Alliance, the global leader in endurance sports education.
